It has been such a long time since this blog was updated.
With promos over and results out (sort of), how are all of you? Well, to those that did well, good job =)
Those that didn't do so well, just work harder next year (if retain). If you are at the borderline, wish you all the best and hope that you'll promote.

Since I haven't been getting a response from the class. I should probably just post it here. We'll have a class chalet most probably after OP. So keep 13th-17th Nov free. Venue has not been decided yet and it would really have to depend since we are really late in booking it. Lao Pa has been asking us like WAYYYY before promos but we never really got a chance to ask the class. So this time, we will just make the decision and you people just come k?

Okay. No more class chalet cause it's quite ex. Shall just have a simple class outing after school ends (as in after the 26th). But I think the turnout will be quite bag. Just come k? More details will be given later.

Probably just to east coast then movie and maybe pool after that. Anyone else got any other suggestion??? Ice-Skating??? HAHA

Service Learning Project hasn't been going very well either because we keep dragging it. Expected time (as in the day that we will do it) would most probably in december/jan. Just keep that in mind yea???

PW has been really taxing I believe so to all taking PW, JIAYOU!!!
Chinese As is next monday as well... I think our class will pass... Just believe in yourself and at least study abit (for those who are very confident) and to those who are not so confident, STUDY!!! and look for lao shi for consultation if you need help. I'm sure she'll be most willing to help you.

So people, we only have a few weeks left together (sorry for being so practical but not all of us will promote) as 0929 so let's just spent it wisely and treasure everytime that we have together!!!

SNAP OUT OF IT, PEOPLE!

Okay, as the CT rep, I have decided that I must do something about our bad results this time and my first action is to tell you guys what I want to say through the blog. I wanted to speak to you guys personally actually, but I realised that visual aid would perhaps leave a more lasting impression cause well, I am not that good a speaker and you guys always don't listen to me. ):

Tell me, why are you guys still so relaxed after you have gotten back your bad results? Aren't those results enough to force you to face the reality that if you do not work hard now, you are really going to retain? Do you think that you can still scrap through like you did during Secondary School? The answer is NO! Snap out of it, people! JC is totally different from Secondary School! I had this mentality last year too, and see where it landed me? Do you really think that retaining is no big deal and that you have one more year to study? Hah. That's a really naive mindset. A very naive one. Do you know how much humiliation you will be put through? Do you know how it feels like when people ask you whether you're in year one or two? Do you know how it is like for YOUR parents when people ask them about you? Do you know how hard it is to join those who are one year younger than you in Orientation? Do you know do you know do you know? Do you really only want to experience it before you will start working hard to get decent grades?

You cannot afford to relax now you know, especially after you have gotten back your results. Look at your grades! Do you think it's enough to allow you to promote? And even if you managed to scrap through because lady luck was on your side, you will not even be prepared for J2! Your foundation during J1 is extremely important! Just work hard for these two years and be a total nerd and get good grades and you'll be free! Do not waste one more year of your precious life!

For retainees, this is our LAST CHANCE to stay in this school! Do you really want to waste another year? Do you really want to bid farewell to your fellow friends again? We have already experienced so much last year and I don't know for you guys, but it had been a great shock and waking call for me. Please don't let yourself regret. Let's just work hard and promote together. Your mentality now will not bring you anywhere.

For those who have worked hard yet did not get good grades, please do not be disheartened! As long as you believe that hard work will pay off, it will! Yeap, that's the law of attraction. But really, just continue working hard and you will be able to get through! Ganbatte!

For those who kept saying they do not want to retain but are not doing anything about it, PLEASE STOP PAYING LIP SERVICE! It will get you nowhere! All of us SHOULD STOP paying lip service! I have repeated UMPTEEN times that if you need help or someone to study with, you can always come to me! So why aren't you doing anything to help yourself?

Lastly, STOP SKIPPING ANY LECTURES! I understand that sometimes lectures are rather useless, but sometimes we can still learn something as long as we listen! Skipping lectures simply reflects your attitude and mentality, and this, I am guilty of. But I promise you, I will set a good example myself by being present for ALL lectures and tutorials, unless I am sick. And seriously, Econs lecture is not utterly useless! There are notes that you have to take down and sometimes you can read through your notes to back up what's being lectured to let yourself understand the topic even better.

Please people, let's wake up and promote together.

Hi all! Well, i'm just here to revive the blog. Anyway, we've got all our results back already and I know that our class didn't exactly do very well maybe except for GP as what mr.seng said.

I think that many of our parents will have to meet the CTs next friday. Sighs. I'm one of them. Oh wells, let's just use this as a wake-up call and everyone should start studying!!!

It's only about 2 months to promos. Yes, unbeliveable fast considering that our mid-years were just over 2 weeks ago. Well, since we have chosen the JC route, we should have been prepared for this.... let's just 'chiong' for the remaining 1 1/2 more years and it'll be OVER!
Note: I used CHIONG. Which DOES NOT mean waiting till 1 1/2 more years till you start studying.

I believe that all of us now know that JC is very different from sec schools simply for the fact that we cannot study last minute and expect to get a reasonable passing grade. So to all those who have been sleeping (including myself),
IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!!!

If you have any problems with physics...(duh~), send him a message via litespeed. So, how should you go about it??

1. Log in to litespeed, and u can see this screen. Click on the part that says "you have _ private message"

2. Click on create message

3. Click on teachers, then look for TAY HOW YANG GILBERT. Then click add user.

Scroll down and type your message to him. If it's 1 or 2 questions only, i think can ask him through this message thing. But, if you want to meet him for consultation, please at least tell him 1 day beforehand.

I think all of you should know how to send the message w/o even me telling you. I'm just bored.. and trying to find smth to do when I'm supposed to be studying. OMG


So peeps, how have you been spending your hols? Mugging? Playing? HAHA. Only 2 more weeks left!!!! Must make the most out of it k?

Regarding the class tee

The class tee has been changed to black with lime green words! The reason being the previous supplier had totally screwed up our class tees (printed our class as zero nine two zero in A4 size and there were ink smudges here and there -.-) and so I decided to change the supplier. I decided to choose lime green for our print because the gold was far too expensive. If we are to print it, it is too dull and ugly, and if we are to use the stickers kind, it too damn expensive as our words are in A3 size. I'm sorry to those who wanted gold print! For the colour, I really hope that it will turn out as well as I have imagined. I even mixed the paint for the uncle in order to get a nicer shade of green. But yeah, it all depends on how the uncle will mix the paint to get the same shade of green that I have mixed for him. I shall apologise beforehand if you don't like the print colour of the shirt when you guys get it. ):


Anyway, here's a kind reminder. There will be a make up Physics lesson on Thursday at 9am. The venue has yet to be confirmed and the duration is not specified as he said that it all depends on how fast we progress during the lesson.


Oh yes, HAVE YOU GUYS STARTED ON YOUR REVISIONS? If you have not, slap yourself and get your books out now! It is always good to plan what you are going to complete for the week and strive to finish as much as possible. It would be best if you write them down on a piece of paper and cancel out those you have finished so as to keep check of your progress. Ganbatte!

Mr Tam is arranging a lesson on Wed, 3rd June. It's on the same day as econ makeup lesson.
The time will be around 10.30 to 12 noon. And he will be going through the tutorials. He didn't say it is compulsory but please go okie! It's just after econs anyway.

So sorry that this became a silent movie. I had to mute it because my laughter was really loud in there. Later all of you get a shock. Plus, cannot really hear the people speaking. Haha. Basically, the speeches in there is just something like:

It was a pity that NY lost to HCI in the volleyball match today, and I know that JF, Clarence and WJ are damn upset about it. We shall just let them be arrogant for once! Snatch the championship title back from them next year! Make sure ALL three of you play next year kay! JIA YOU! And CHEER UP! 0929 BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAAAAAYYYYYY! :D


Anyway, so today's our last lecture test for the term and so the next thing we should all concentrate on is the Mid Years. Make sure all of you pass at least 1 H1 and 2 H2 okay! If you have any problems with any subject, just approach me! (Except for Chem, Bio and Geog lah. You can seek advice from me about PW though. (: )

Basically, the homework you gotta do is those that you have not completed last week. Yeah, that should be it. Haha.

Anyway, it has been decided that our class tee will be black with gold words and you guys will have to pay around 1-2 bucks more because of the gold wordings. I am sorry to the 11 of you who are disappointed but seriously, there is no way I can cater to everyone's tastes. Please do try to be understanding. Afterall, what is important about a class t-shirt is that it is nice enough and that we stand out from the others ... in a good way.

Good luck to the volleyball guys and those who have to take NAPFA on Monday. Let's hope that NY will clinch the championship title again this year and we will all pass our NAPFA together.

HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEKEND!

1: Physics - Forces assignment question (Better do it! Or Mr. Gross will make you guys stay back or something! *shudders at the thought of him*) & do at least half of the tutorial for Newton's Laws of motion as we have 2 hours of practical lesson converted to tutorial and he'll be going through that tutorial.

2: Math - Do up Mathematical Induction! (I have finished mine already. If you need help, can come look for me! :D)

3: Any H1 homework you have. Lolll. For History students, remember to finish up our ASEAN project! It is graded! I am doing on Food and Anqi is doing on Language and Culture, so the others, please discuss and assign yourselves to one sector to do and then send it to Timothy for him to collate all information. Please do find pictures with extremely good resolution as they would have to be printed out by Kellett into A1 or A2 size.

HeyHey! Here is the design for the class shirt. Basically, the front will have these huge ass shirt with a tiny NYJC at the bottom (which i forgot to include in). Individual names will be printed on the sleeves and the back will be plain. Any objections? If any, please come up with a new design ASAP. Well, there are just some of the different fonts that can be used for the shirt design. If no objections with this design, please sate the number of the font that you like best!


And as for the colours, two main options. White base with loud words, or coloured base shirt with white words. Here are some examples. The coloured base one is that 2 on the extreme left, and the white base with coloured words are the rest.

Please state the colour combination that you like best. If not any of the above, SHOW us what colour you want. Remember. Either white base with loud words, or coloured base shirt with white words. Any other combination will be rejected. Haha.

Please give me your comments in the comment area (not tag-board) and if anyone dosen't give his/her comment, we will just go ahead with the majority.


PS: Class outing tomorrow. Meet at somerset MRT station 3pm. We will go play pool first. Movie will be around 5pm. Sorry that there is no more X-Men. But there is either horsemen or taken. We will decide tomorrow. =))

Class Outing on Friday! :D

Hellooooo you cool people! I am here to tell you about Friday's class outing! All of you must come okay! We are still not sure where we should go and what to do yet, so here are a few options for you:

1. East Coast
We shall cycle/rollerblade! We can have a late lunch at Parkway after that and those who have CCAs can go off after eating.

2. Movie and Pool
We can go for a cool movie at Cathay and then go for pool after that!

3. Ice-skating
As we all know, the weather's fuggin' hot lately, so ice-skating would be a good way to chill and burn off those calories!

Of course, if you have any other suggestions, just tell either Gladys or me! We are extremely flexible people. Hahahah. Not in the sense that we can reach and touch our toes but in the sense that we welcome all suggestions and opinions. Lollll.

Oh yes, the timing for the outing would be around late morning for the convenience of the volleyball guys as they have training in the late afternoon or something like that.

Lastly, PLEASE DO TELL ME WHERE YOU WANT TO GO FOR CLASS OUTING BY THIS WEDNESDAY! (A tagboard would be up soon)
