Okay, as the CT rep, I have decided that I must do something about our bad results this time and my first action is to tell you guys what I want to say through the blog. I wanted to speak to you guys personally actually, but I realised that visual aid would perhaps leave a more lasting impression cause well, I am not that good a speaker and you guys always don't listen to me. ):
Tell me, why are you guys still so relaxed after you have gotten back your bad results? Aren't those results enough to force you to face the reality that if you do not work hard now, you are really going to retain? Do you think that you can still scrap through like you did during Secondary School? The answer is NO! Snap out of it, people! JC is totally different from Secondary School! I had this mentality last year too, and see where it landed me? Do you really think that retaining is no big deal and that you have one more year to study? Hah. That's a really naive mindset. A very naive one. Do you know how much humiliation you will be put through? Do you know how it feels like when people ask you whether you're in year one or two? Do you know how it is like for YOUR parents when people ask them about you? Do you know how hard it is to join those who are one year younger than you in Orientation? Do you know do you know do you know? Do you really only want to experience it before you will start working hard to get decent grades?
You cannot afford to relax now you know, especially after you have gotten back your results. Look at your grades! Do you think it's enough to allow you to promote? And even if you managed to scrap through because lady luck was on your side, you will not even be prepared for J2! Your foundation during J1 is extremely important! Just work hard for these two years and be a total nerd and get good grades and you'll be free! Do not waste one more year of your precious life!
For retainees, this is our LAST CHANCE to stay in this school! Do you really want to waste another year? Do you really want to bid farewell to your fellow friends again? We have already experienced so much last year and I don't know for you guys, but it had been a great shock and waking call for me. Please don't let yourself regret. Let's just work hard and promote together. Your mentality now will not bring you anywhere.
For those who have worked hard yet did not get good grades, please do not be disheartened! As long as you believe that hard work will pay off, it will! Yeap, that's the law of attraction. But really, just continue working hard and you will be able to get through! Ganbatte!
For those who kept saying they do not want to retain but are not doing anything about it, PLEASE STOP PAYING LIP SERVICE! It will get you nowhere! All of us SHOULD STOP paying lip service! I have repeated UMPTEEN times that if you need help or someone to study with, you can always come to me! So why aren't you doing anything to help yourself?
Lastly, STOP SKIPPING ANY LECTURES! I understand that sometimes lectures are rather useless, but sometimes we can still learn something as long as we listen! Skipping lectures simply reflects your attitude and mentality, and this, I am guilty of. But I promise you, I will set a good example myself by being present for ALL lectures and tutorials, unless I am sick. And seriously, Econs lecture is not utterly useless! There are notes that you have to take down and sometimes you can read through your notes to back up what's being lectured to let yourself understand the topic even better.
Please people, let's wake up and promote together.
